How the City of Chicago is analyzing unstructured data in real time to build a smarter city
The City of Chicago is the third largest city in the United States with nearly 3 million citizens spread across over 240 square miles. Tom Schenk, Chief Data Officer for the City of Chicago, helped build a data-driven solution that enables a more proactive approach to improving city operations. The city’s WindyGrid platform ingests data from over two dozen different systems across 30 different departments and analyzes that data in real-time, allowing officials to see everything that is happening as it happens and more effectively deploy city resources.
